My New Life In Christ

My New Life In Christ

By receiving Jesus you have made the most important decision of your life.  You are now poised to begin a lifelong journey into the exciting blessings that God has prepared for you.  The Bible describes this journey in terms of renewing your mind, as a process of learning to think and act in a manner that is in line with God’s Word.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.  (Romans 12:2)

Renewing your mind is the key to a successful Christian life.  The information in this blog will help you get started in the right direction by giving you the basic foundation you need to understand your new life.  Being a Christian means living by the principles and the promises of the Bible.  The best thing you can do for yourself is to learn as much as you can about God's Word.  And the best way to do that is to read it every chance that you get, read books that help explain the Bible, listen to teaching CD's and get involved in church where you can hear good teaching and be encouraged in your faith by fellowship with other believers.

In the following blogs you will find an overview of the most basic teachings of the Bible, such as salvation, water baptism, and baptism in the Holy Spirit.  These fundamental teachings will help you to get established in this exciting new life.

Salvation

What does it mean to be saved? What am I saved from? Now that I'm "born again," what does that mean?  In its simplest form, being saved means you are saved from spending eternity in hell away from God. But there is a lot more to it than that.  Salvation begins right now and you can experience the benefits in this life.  Salvation includes freedom from habits that have made you miserable. It means health and healing from any sickness that has plagued you.  It means deliverance from depression into a life of joy and peace.  It means gaining financial freedom.  It means abundant provision for every need that you could ever have.  Salvation encompasses every single part of your life.

Water Baptism

One of the first things you might consider doing in your Christian life is being baptized.  By definition this means being submerged in water and brought back up again.

The Holy Spirit

Water baptism involves the determination to live a godly life.  When you became a believer, the Holy Spirit started living inside you.  He gave you spiritual life.

The Bible

The Holy Spirit does miraculous things in your life, but He does not just act arbitrarily.  He responds to the Word of God, the Bible.  There is much said in the Bible about how powerful it is.  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.  (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

Prayer

One of the most important parts of everyday life for Jesus was prayer.  He constantly kept in touch with the Father.  So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.  (Luke 5:16)

Giving To God

As you mature in your spiritual walk with the Lord, you will find that the Bible is very powerful in all ways.  This includes the area of finances.  Walking with God and obeying the Word in the area of finances is crucial.  God wants to bless your finances.

All Things New

There is much to learn about God and what He has in store for you.  In fact it will take you the rest of your life and even then you will probably feel like you've barely begun.  But it is a journey filled with joy and the excitement of discovery.  The things we have talked about are only the beginning.  Salvation means living in the abundance and the freedom that God has provided. Baptism in water is a commitment to a life of following Jesus.
